Delve deeper into Australian nature
New series of nature journaling workshops for 2024
In 2024 I’m very pleased to offer a series of whole-day nature journaling workshops, for those wishing to delve more deeply into the practice of nature journaling and learn more about the biology and ecology Australian nature.
Nature journaling is simply ‘drawing and writing in response to nature’. It’s a wonderful technique for learning, as it encourages close observation and strengthens comprehension and memory. The practice of nature journaling – especially while outdoors – can also benefit one’s mental, emotional and physical health. The practice is further rewarded by the creation of one’s own unique nature journal.
Each workshop will allow participants to slow down, immerse themselves in beautiful outdoor locations and meet like-minded people. Also included in each workshop is the opportunity to enjoy café refreshments with others while continuing to work on your journal pages. Detailed class notes for each workshop will provide a framework for interpreting the plants, animals and ecosystems we will explore.

Your illustrations are phenomenal. I feel like I’ve learnt so much but yet have more questions than answers . Is this normal ? What eucalyptus plant do you recommend in general ?
Kindest and most heartfelt regards ,
Florian
P.s thanks for your extensive efforts.LoVE YOUR BLOG ,!
Love the illustrations – a blend of realism and whimsy! More and more I find I yearn being immersed in the immaterial world. To slow down and experience the world like the spotted mushroom.

Here from Sweden ! Cool idea !
Hey thanks Flo for your kind words! I think it’s completely normal (healthy, even) to have more questions than answers. Hmm what Eucalyptus? Depends what you like, where you’re going to plant it, etc…. So many to choose from 🙂
Thabks so much for answering ,! Your blog is really cool. With the eucalyptus question i mean, what should I use it for ? Like as a gift ? Or for medicinal use ? Just in general which one ?
And is it safe around my dogs at home? Thanks so much again !
Maybe the first thing to consider is where you’re going to grow it. You’ll probably need to plant it outside as I don’t think they generally make good pot plants. What’s the climate and soil like? That will narrow down which species will grow well where you are. And then think about how much room do you have? Many Eucalyptus species grow into big trees… They’re not poisonous to dogs, but once they grow into trees they can drop branches and also might increase the fire risk around you’re home because they tend to be quite flammable.
Flo.. like a flowing river? I sense a beautiful energy in you. Maybe we are already watching one another, like two speckled birds 🙂
Look up, you see the moon ?
We could start watching that together. Just as practice 🙂 I have tea 🙂 haha hehe or coffee if you prefer ? I dont judge hahaha
? It was a response to me..
Sas.. sadly, I don’t believe we share the same moon. Into the gentle river, I desire to wade.. calmly and deeply.
Is this a reply to me ? I can be a river if you will be my source
No, she’s replying to me, bird nerd.
